Light Skin Keisha confirms she and Coca Vango are pregnant
After months of speculation in the comments sections below her posts, Ride Good rapper Keisha finally confirmed in a very special birthday post that she and partner Vango are expecting something.
“Thank you God for another year of life and for the new life growing inside me!” said Keisha as she shared the news of her pregnancy with her three million Instagram followers. “Happy birthday,” she added with a smiley face emoji.
The entertainment world quickly flocked to the power star, who amassed well over half a million likes in 24 hours and received congratulations from fellow artists including Kash Doll, Monica and Lakeyah.
Why are some fans unsure about Coca Vango?
While the big news was well-received by most people, some netizens couldn’t help but rewatch a snippet of Keisha and Vango’s collaborative podcast that went viral in July.
The clip, which emerged from the couple’s platform The Bold Face Truth, enraged many when it first circulated because people took it as orchestration on Vango’s part.
While discussing the ever-tough subject of cheating, Vango, a fellow rapist, appeared to claim that he believed Keisha would stay in their relationship even if she knew he had cheated on her – much to her dismay.
Keisha’s anger at her fiancé was reciprocated online at the time and will be reciprocated this week, with one user clicking Furious.”
The sentiment was echoed by another amused fan, who sarcastically wrote, “So LightSkin Keisha is having a baby from a man who told her she wouldn’t leave if he cheated. In a public forum, in our faces. Congratulations.” While Vango has never actually admitted to cheating on Keisha, in the eyes of many, the damage seems clearly already done.
Power viewers are concerned about the future of Brushaundria Carmichael
Aside from the awkward podcast clip, the main concern for some people in Keisha’s comments was how her message would impact the future of power spinoff Power Book II: Ghost.
Keisha has appeared as BruShandria Carmichael in over 20 episodes of the series, though many viewers worry her personal news could lead to some kind of career break.
“I know you better not leave Stansfield lol,” one Instagram user wrote in response to Keisha’s message — a nod to her character attending a class taught by Tariq at the fictional Stansfield University.
Another concerned viewer refused to be nice, preferring to get straight to the point: “So you’re going to die in power, aren’t you?”
Regardless of what the future of their acting careers might hold, Keisha and Vango seem excited about this week’s news — and after all, that’s the main thing.
