F1 2022 leak reveals supercar plans and players are furious

F1 developer Codemasters will shake things up a bit in F1 2022 with crossplay and a new F1 LIFE mode, and this latest mode will see the introduction of new supercars, which isn’t the news many loyalists wanted.

F1 2021 was another solid entry into the biggest gaming sim in real-world F1 sport. As always, there were things that went down well and other aspects that could be improved upon as the franchise inevitably continues.

Another season means another game and F1 2022 is in for some big changes. Acclaimed video game leaker Tom Henderson has revealed that the popular story mode feature has been omitted, but will feature some of the world’s top supercars instead.

For many, the appeal of F1 is F1 cars, will supercars be welcome?

In an exclusive message with xfireTom Henderson announced that F1 2022 “will be getting cross-play this year” and that it will also “remove story mode and add a new player hub called ‘F1 LIFE'”.

From its description, F1 LIFE sounds like it will share traits of the upcoming F1 documentary Drive To Survive and give outsiders a glimpse into the lives and lifestyles of F1 drivers. But alongside fancy designer watches and other expensive tangibles, F1 2022 will welcome supercars.

These state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line vehicles will mark the first-ever appearance of such a car in an F1 game.

Henderson said, “Not only can you collect and drive these supercars yourself, but you can race them online against other players’ supercars on the game’s 23 tracks, albeit not against real F1 cars.”

While news of crossplay and the intriguing new F1 LIFE game mode has been well received, not so many fans of the franchise are so excited about the addition of supercars to F1.

“No career mode? F**k me, and who wants to drive supercars in an F1 game. Where the heck are the classics?” said one disgruntled fan, while another said: “So instead of classics we’re getting cars nobody asked for? If I want to drive supercars, I play GT7 or Forza, not F1.”

Of course, these are just rumors for now, so we’ll wait and see if this is confirmed. F1 2022 leak reveals supercar plans and players are furious
