Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi says filming nude is like ‘naking in front of your family’

Jacob Elordi opened up about what it was like filming his nude scene on Happiness.

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Only on March 1, host Ellen DeGeneres joked that Elordi’s character Nate was nude for most of his scenes.

She then asked if Elordi was consulted before filming his nude scenes.

“You have no other choice,” Elordi replied. “Every scene is like, ‘He slept with this person. He did this to this person naked. ‘”

He went on to add that the staff on set have all been the same since the first season, so getting naked in front of them “is like being naked in front of your family”.

“It’s always weird,” he laughs.

However, the Australian actor explained that “nudity comes with the character’s territory”.

“He is a very manly man. I think those people tend to be pretty topless, so that’s okay,” said Elordi.

He added that they have an intimacy coordinator on set that he feels “like a second mother” and checks in with them regularly.

“She was like, ‘Are you comfortable? Are you OK?’ To the point where you’re like, ‘Yes, yes, yes. I’m fine,” Elordi said.

Elordi isn’t the first actor to talk about the show’s much-discussed nudity.

In recent interviews, other cast members including Sydney Sweeney, Minka Kelly and Chloe Cherry have also discussed their experiences filming nude scenes on the show.

Happiness can be streamed on HBO Max and Sky and NOW in the UK.
