Eric Adams says social media companies should have reported Frank James’ heinous tirades

Mayor Eric Adams said Wednesday that by alerting law enforcement to his heinous online video rants before the horrific attack, social media companies could have reported the worrying behavior of alleged N-Train gunman Frank James.
The 62-year-old has posted a series of videos on YouTube, often containing racist diatribes, in which Adams was singled out by name and threatened. In one uploaded just a month ago, James said he had “entered the danger zone”.
“We’re seeing signs around us of those prone to violent action and ignoring them,” Adams told CNN during a morning interview.
“I can’t play a song on a social media channel that belongs to someone else without them realizing it. Why aren’t we identifying these dangerous threats?” asked Hizzoner. “Why don’t we act more proactively instead of waiting for this to happen?”
“I think the social media industries and companies have some responsibility,” he added. “[We] We need to understand why we are monitoring these posts and these threats every day and no one is giving law enforcement an early warning sign.”

Adams made the comments just hours before James was arrested on the Lower East Side, ending the multi-day manhunt that erupted after he detonated smoke bombs and shot dead a crowded Brooklyn subway train during Tuesday morning’s rush hour.
More than two dozen people were wounded in the horrific attack – but none were fatally injured, a stroke of luck which officials have attributed to James’ gun malfunction.
YouTube’s parent company – Alphabet, which also owns search engine giant Google – did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
