Celebrities from across the cultural world have reacted to England’s win over Senegal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The men’s national team defeated Senegal 3-0 in the round of 16 on Sunday evening (November 4). Goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka saw Gareth Southgate’s team through.
England meet France in the quarter-finals of the competition, which will be held in Qatar.
Former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson was seen watching the game in a crowd at Wembley’s Boxparkand was photographed celebrating wildly as the team scored.
Others shared their support for the national team on social media.
“Great win, England come alive after a slow start,” wrote the former Good morning Britain Presenter Piers Morgan. “This guy knows what he’s doing – congratulations, Mr Southgate.
“France and @KMbappe in particular will be a massive challenge in the 1/4 finals on Saturday night. But who the hell wants to play against England in this World Cup now? We have a great squad, a top manager and countless players who score goals for fun. The French should worry more than we do.”
Kate Beckinsale, meanwhile, shared a video of herself and others celebrating England’s win on Instagram.
Footage of musician Peter Andre watching the game was shared on his son Junior’s Instagram account; The singer agrees that the trophy is “coming home.”

Daily judge Robert Rinder, a TV personality, meanwhile urged England to win the World Cup as an “articulated middle finger” aimed at Qatar’s human rights record.
Labor leader Keir Starmer was also seen watching the game. He tweeted: “What a game @England. Big game next weekend against France. But is anyone beginning to think it might be coming home…?”
