Emma Thompson Says She “Not Really” Enjoys Watching Love Actually

Emma Thompson has said she doesn’t enjoy rewatching the series very much love actually.

The actor appeared on Tuesday night’s (December 6) episode The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonwhere she talked about the popular 2003 Christmas movie.

In it, Thompson, 63, plays Karen, whose husband (Alan Rickman) is attracted to his younger secretary, Mia (Heike Makatsch).

Thompson’s storyline in the rom-com is often cited by viewers as the film’s most heartbreaking.

When asked by presenter Jimmy Fallon if she would ever watch the holiday movie again, Thompson replied, “No! That was 20 years ago.”

He replied, “I know, but isn’t it fun to put it on and be like, ‘Oh, I remember where we were when we were doing that?'”

“Not really,” Thompson said. “You’re just thinking… I don’t think I was paid very well for that and that was that awful trailer with the loo that really stank… those are the things you remember.”

Fallon went on to ask Thompson if fans would send her Joni Mitchell CDs in a reference to the film.

She realizes that the necklace she bought from him was meant for someone else and suspects he is having an affair.

The actress joked that she has a “separate house” for all CDs sent to her by fans.

Elsewhere, Thompson spoke about her husband Greg Wise’s recent stay Be sure to come dance.

That Mathilde Star said she “made him” enter the hit dance competition because he thought it would be fun.

“It wasn’t so fun,” Thompson laughed.
