Emily Atack vows to continue being sexy despite critics as she says it’s her ‘support blanket’

EMILY Atack refuses to give in to critics who question her body confidence and sexuality.
The 33-year-old TV presenter and actress opened up this week about the horrific unwanted messages she’s been receiving from men on social media.

In the upcoming documentary Asking For It? Emily will detail how scared she is by rape threats and sexual harassment.
What’s worse is that critics and victim-shamers claim she’s “asking for it” after becoming a sex symbol thanks to her role in The Inbetweeners 12 years ago.
But far from letting those horrific online attacks stop her from being anyone other than herself, Emily has now said she embraces her sexuality and confidence on her own terms, calling it her “comfort blanket.”
“People just kept panicking and saying, ‘You need to change this, you need to change that.’ I’m not trying to be a sexy pin-up who’s like, ‘Hey guys, here I am,'” she told the Daily Stern.
“But I’m also single, I’m in the dating scene — so that’s on me.”
She later reiterated her love for her looks and style, saying it was never “sexy” for men but to give herself confidence.
“Why do you want to feel sexy when you want to feel strong as a woman?” she added. “That doesn’t mean we’re asking to be raped or sexually harassed.”
Emily Atack: Asked about it? airs Tuesday at 9pm on BBC Two.
