Elvis’ mistress, ‘the most photogenic girl alive’, has revealed dating secrets

Venetia Stevenson – an actress once known as “the most photogenic girl alive” – was famous for her relationship with Elvis Presley.

Although the starlet died in September at the age of 84, her sister Caroline Stevenson recently spoke to Fox News about her siblings’ relationship with the music icon.

Revealing how the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll fell head over heels in his blue suede shoes for Venetia, Caroline noted how the pair became romantically involved in the late 1950s.

“Elvis Presley was one of the most polite, wonderful and genuine men she has ever met,” Caroline said. “As a teenager, of course I was like, ‘Oh my god, is Venetia going to marry Elvis?’ “

Venetia – the daughter of ‘General Hospital’ star Anna Lee and ‘Mary Poppins’ director Robert Stevenson – and Presley were first photographed together in 1957 when she visited him in Memphis, Tennessee, for a screening of the film Loving You. ”

Caroline went on to say that the Suspicious Minds crooner “couldn’t have been nicer.”

“[Venetia] went and stayed with him [in Memphis],” she added. “I know they stayed in separate bedrooms because she made it very clear that she wanted it that way. He respected that.

“And she just thought he was wonderful. But beyond that, nothing ever developed. Can’t imagine why. I mean we all did flip flops when he walked into a room,” she gushed.

Caroline also recalls that Presley was “down to earth” — so much so that one day he went to a local restaurant with Venetia to order a hamburger.

“The waitress just passed out. And here he says, “This food is delicious. But you need to make this salad smaller. you have to hack it Cut that lettuce into small pieces or it’ll just fall off the hamburger.’ Meanwhile, the waitress is lying on the floor, almost passed out,’ Caroline said.

Caroline then revealed that her sister was a famous companion for hidden stars in Hollywood like Anthony Perkins and Tab Hunter, adding that she dated “all kinds of people”.

Venetia tied the knot with West Side Story star Russ Tamblyn in 1956. They separated in 1957 and she later married Don Everly of the Everly Brothers in 1962.

Venetia and Everly had three children and she left Hollywood after her marriage.
