Elon Musk sells 4.4 million Tesla shares after buying Twitter

Elon Musk sold 4.4 million Tesla shares this week after acquiring Twitter for $44 billion, new Securities and Exchange Commission filings show.
The sales, made Tuesday and Wednesday, totaled $3.99 billion, Bloomberg reported.
After the filings were released Thursday, Musk said tweeted “No further TSLA sales are planned after today.”
Musk’s sale of Tesla shares came after Twitter’s board of directors accepted Musk’s $44 billion buyout on Monday.
Tesla’s CEO said his goal is to privatize the company and restore the social media platform’s freedom of speech compliance.
According to Bloomberg, financial experts believe the world’s richest man will need to sell Tesla stock to cover the $21 billion equity portion of the transaction, which he personally guaranteed.
