Edina PD Offers $5K Reward For Information On 4 Underage Suspects Involved In Tried Debts And Theft Crimes – WCCO

EDINA, Minn. (WCCO) – Police in Edina are offering a $5,000 reward after a break-in Thursday night at a Lunds and Byerlys parking lot left three people injured.
Edina Police say officers were dispatched to Lunds and Byerlys on West 50th Street shortly after 5 p.m., following reports of an ongoing carjacking.
Four teenage boys are trying to remove an occupied car from the lot, and two are trying to help the owner. Police said no weapons are believed to be involved in the incident. However, one person was seriously injured and taken to North Memorial Hospital. They were released later in the evening. Two other injured people were treated at the scene.
Police believe the teenagers were involved in other incidents in the area, including an attempted carjacking in St. Louis earlier on Thursday.
Photos of two of the suspects were released Friday afternoon. Police said one suspect was wearing a black coat with a fur hood, while the other was wearing light-colored jeans, a hoodie and a black beanie.
The vehicle involved in the incident is believed to be a white 2016 GMC Acadia, with registration plate number 207 VNR, believed to be stolen in St. Louis Park.
St. Park Police. Louis is providing a similar bonus $5,000 for information that led to the arrest of three suspects in two recent break-ins and robbery.
Car robberies are on the rise in the subway. Minneapolis police said More than 500 car robberies have been reported this year, compared to 401 in 2020 and 104 in 2019.
Edina’s reward is provided by the Edina Crime Prevention Foundation, and will be distributed for information leading to the arrest of four suspects.
