TRAILBLAZING Rigorous champion Rose Ayling-Ellis will step down from the role of EastEnders within a few months, announced her acceptance on the BBC channel.
Deaf Rose, 27 years old, was introduced as a TV and movie star after she and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice lifted the Glitterball trophy.
The performers and producers have arranged high-profile projects for the actress, who has been playing the soap’s Frankie Lewis since last year.
Her character has not been written until next month when she is expected to return.
But the cast and crew both hoped that Rose would have itchy feet.
The Sun revealed last week that Beeb was lining up a TV series with a deaf character in the lead role to cast Rose. There are reports that she may be targeting Hollywood.
She and Italian star Giovanni beat baker John Whaite and Johannes Radebe to win Saturday night. Giovanni then posed in bed with the trophy.
Meanwhile, Rose wants to combine her acting career with helping the deaf community after breaking stereotypes during her time on the dance floor.
She said: “The conversations revolved around the issue of ‘How can deaf people hear music?’
“Now we know let’s move on and talk about more important issues.
“One in four hearing people has a mental health problem, but one in two deaf people has a mental health problem.
“The suicide rate is quite high, because mental health services are not even accessible.
“You go to your therapist but they don’t have an interpreter there, or when you go to the doctor, they don’t provide an interpreter for you.
“Or it’s not very private so people just avoid it. People avoid getting help because it’s inaccessible. People just do the bare minimum and it’s really annoying. I don’t want the bare minimum anymore. I want more “.
Last night, EastEnders tried to quell rumors of Rose’s departure.
A spokeswoman said: “There is no truth in this.
“Rose has no intention of leaving EastEnders and is looking forward to returning in the new year.”
