Earthshot Prize 2022: Who’s Performing?

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas are among the stars set to perform at this year’s Earthshot Awards.

The Earthshot Prize is the annual awards ceremony celebrating the environmental charity. This year’s award will be presented on Friday (December 2nd) in Boston, USA.

The award was donated by Prince William, who will be present at the ceremony along with his wife, the Princess of Wales.

The couple will join actor Rami Malek, comedian Catherine O’Hara (of Schitt’s Creek) and actress Shaileen Woodley.

“The fifteen finalists for this year’s Earthshot Prize are deeply inspiring,” said Malek. “They dedicate their lives to developing solutions that fix our planet and I can’t wait to present an award to one of the incredible winners for 2022.”

Alongside Billie Eilish and Finneas will be appearances from the likes of Chloe x Halle, Annie Lennox and Ellie Goulding.

“The urgent need to protect and restore our Earth’s damaged environmental systems is critical to future survival,” says Lennox.

“The goal of the Earthshot Prize is strong in terms of building a ‘zero waste world’ and ‘reviving our oceans’. I am therefore honored to support this ambitious mission with my vote.”

Radio 1 presenter Claro Amfo, who hosted last year’s awards ceremony, will co-host this year’s awards with Daniel Dae Kim.

“I was so inspired by last year’s winners and look forward to celebrating and sharing the incredible work of the 2022 finalists with the world,” says Amfo.

This year there will be five winners of the Earthshot Prize, each with £1m in prize money to support and scale their innovations.

Nominees were recognized for projects that find solutions to repair the planet this decade.

“We are facing our greatest challenge; to revitalize the place we all call home over the next decade,” the award website reads.

“We believe in the power of human ingenuity to prove to us all that the seemingly impossible is possible.”

This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday (4 December) at 5:30 GMT on BBC.

It will then be streamed later that evening from the Earthshot Prize YouTube channel. Earthshot Prize 2022: Who’s Performing?
