Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s mother, Ata Johnson, was involved in a car accident

The mother of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles on Wednesday night but survived in what the actor calls a miracle.

The Black Adam star posted a photo of a battered red Cadillac Escalade on Instagram, with severe damage to the passenger side. The actor included a lengthy caption thanking God his mother was okay.

“Angels of mercy were watching over my mother when she was involved in a car accident late last night,” Johnson said.

The Escalade’s hull had been ripped off and crumbled, exposing the interior parts and an airbag that appeared to have deployed on the driver’s side.

Johnson, 50, said his mother was being investigated further after the frightening accident.

“This woman survived lung cancer, a tough marriage, a head-on collision with a drunk driver and an attempted suicide,” he shared in the caption. “She is a survivor in a way that makes angels and miracles real.”

The former professional wrestler thanked the Los Angeles Police Department and Fire Department for helping her and letting him know what was happening over the phone.

Then he offered some advice – he told others to hug their parents.

“I have one parent left so if you still have your mom and dad then make sure to hug them tight because you never know when you’re going to get that 3 o’clock call we never want to get,” said Johnson.
