Dwayne Johnson’s mum Ata sobs as actor surprises her with new home

Dwayne Johnson’s mother broke down in tears when the actor surprised her with a new home.

In a clip shared to Instagram on Saturday night (June 4), the actor filmed his 73-year-old mother Ata as she entered her new home for the first time.

Ata covered her mouth as her eyes filled with tears and Dwayne explained that this was the most extraordinary house he could buy his mother.

“I love you mom and surprise!” he wrote. “When I was a little boy I hated it when my mother cried – now I’m happy to take her tears of joy.

“I surprised my mother and bought her a new home. It took me and my design team 8 weeks to get it ready where she could walk through her front door for the first time and everything she saw was brand new and a total surprise.”

He continued, “I’ve been fortunate enough to have bought her a few houses over the years, but this one is special as she’s kept telling me over the past few years, ‘After a lifetime of travelling, I want this one home be my last This is my dream.'”

“Mom, there’s no greater feeling than making you happy ~ welcome home.”

In a second post, Dwayne explained that he “dug up” pictures of her ancestors to put on the walls that his mother “hadn’t seen since she was a kid in Samoa,” and put them on the wall along with them their vintage ukuleles.

Ata sobbed as she walked across the room and pointed to the pictures.

“Thank you God for blessing me with a bit of a work ethic to make things like this possible. Have fun with your new mom!!”
