We take a look at Dusty May’s wife Anna and her family amidst the Florida Atlantic Owls making the Elite Eight of this year’s NCAA tournament.

The Florida Atlantic Owls’ Cinderella run continues at this year’s NCAA tournament. On Thursday night (March 23), the No. 9 upset the No. 4 Tennessee 62–55 to redeem their ticket to their first Elite Eight appearance in school history.

At Madison Square Garden, they kept their dreams alive, capitalizing on a 20-4 run over six minutes to secure victory over the Vols.

This marks the Owls’ first tournament appearance during March Madness since 2002. They beat No. 8 Memphis in the first round before being tested by No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson in the second round.

Florida Atlantic meets No. 3 Kansas State in the Elite Eight on Saturday.

Dusty May is at the top and continues to make history

Dusty May is the men’s basketball coach at Florida Atlantic University and led the team to its greatest season in school history in 2022-2023.

May was the student manager for the Indiana University men’s basketball team and after graduating, he began his career from 2000-2002 as an administrative assistant/video coordinator at USC. He had his first job as an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan, where he was employed during the 2005-2006 season, and had stints at Murray State and UAB.

May served six seasons as an assistant coach and assistant head coach at Louisiana Tech. After three years as an assistant coach at the University of Florida, he came to FAU in 2018.

The 46-year-old is the only FAU men’s basketball coach to have guided his team to four straight wins and has enabled the school to assert itself at the national level. Heading into the postseason that year, the Owls held a 28-3 record and won a Conference USA Regular Season title, while May was named Conference USA Coach of the Year.
