BISCOE, NC (WGHP) — One person was killed and two, including a Biscoe police officer, injured in a chase and accident Thursday night in Montgomery and Moore counties.
A police chase began at a McDonald’s in Biscoe around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
The chase ended in Moore County when the car involved crashed.
According to Highway Patrol, the suspect 2009 Chevy Impala was traveling east on NC 24 in Moore County at high speed when the driver lost control and crossed the double yellow lines. The Impala went off the road, rolled over and hit a tree before coming to a stop on the passenger side.
Police say there were two people in the vehicle at the time, both of whom were not wearing seat belts.
The driver, Chase D’Carlo Bruton, 24, of Charlotte, died at the scene. The passenger, a 28-year-old from Norwood, was seriously injured and taken to hospital by helicopter.
A Biscoe police officer was also taken to the hospital but was not seriously injured.
Police have not said what sparked the pursuit or if charges will be filed.
