Driver abandoned pickup truck after crashing into a light pole in Lehigh

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A driver abandoned his pickup after crashing into a light pole in Lehigh Acres on Friday morning.

Around 1 a.m., soldiers responded to the area of ​​State Road 81 and 40th Street SW after someone hit a light pole and took off, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Soldiers say the driver veered off the road and hit a pole before continuing to drive and eventually abandoning the vehicle on Rod and Gun Club Road.

Investigators found a badly damaged pickup truck with no driver in sight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The unidentified driver fled the scene leaving the truck, soldiers said.
