Mir, of Weybridge, Surrey, was found guilty by jury of manslaughter but cleared of murder of Mr Tester and conspiracy to kill Lee Waring

Mr Tester, 49, suffered fatal head injuries when he was hit by a vehicle in wealthy Walton-on-Thames, Surrey.

Mr Waring was also seriously injured after an alleged confrontation between Mir and another man.

Both Shaan Mir and Steven Butler were in a relationship with Ize Schoeman.

The jury heard that an altercation broke out between Mr Butler and the defendant, in which Mir was punched.

Moments later Mir drove his white BMW towards the group, who were in the Marks & Spencer parking lot.

Prosecutor Philip Bennetts QC revealed that Mr Tester and Lee Waring were hit by the vehicle and left with horrific injuries, before Mir turned around and moved in front of them.

Despite the medical staff’s best efforts, Mr Tester died at the scene, just two weeks before his 50th birthday.

During a sentencing hearing at Guildford Crown Court, Judge Jonathan Black heard emotional testimony from Mr Tester’s family about the impact of Mir’s assault.
