Dr Disrespect’s Midnight Society Studio Responds to NFT’s “Pinball” Tactics

The Midnight Society by Dr. Disrespect has responded to NFT pinball by implementing a system that weeds out people who simply want to sell the Founders Pass for a profit.
Three months after the launch of Midnight Society – the game studio Dr Disrespects – the developers announced their upcoming game currently known as “Project Moon”.
The Founders Pass gives a group of 10,000 fans early access to the game and helps influence the making of the game. To the chagrin of many people, it is made available in the form of an NFT.
Days after the announcement, the studio asserted that NFTs at Project Moon aren’t there to make money. And in a recent blog post, they confirmed that they are working to eliminate NFT pinball players who just want a Founder’s Pass to make a quick buck.

The Midnight Society Founders Pass doesn’t have much in common with any other game’s Season Pass, other than giving players a lot more power.
Midnight Society reacts to NFT pinball
according to a Blog post from March 25thMidnight Society has received over 400,000 applications from fans looking to purchase the Founders Pass. They mentioned that narrowing it down to 10,000 would be “one of the hardest things” they’ve ever done and described the kind of people they’re looking for.
It states: “Our founders must be a diverse mix of casual and hardcore gamers, developers (both indie and AAA), content creators and influencers (from all backgrounds) – each with their unique experiences, ideas and vision for How Project moon should be made.”
The studio has expanded on its message, making it clear that its process will help eliminate those who just want to collect the passes and turn them over, which in turn would hyperinflate the value of the NFT.
This news coincides with a comment made by the Midnight Society’s studio executives during a recent AMA. They stressed to fans that the NFT associated with the Founders Pass was not created to get rich – but to retain ownership of the product purchased.
Overall, they’ve made it clear that their approach to NFTs isn’t to make themselves billionaires – it’s to commemorate the start of the game, much like 100 Thieves LCS NFT.
