Don’t Tell The Bride has re-registered with her most notorious couple after their disastrous Las Vegas wedding 12 years ago.
It’s no surprise that groom Simon and bride Kayleigh are no longer together, given the fact that they split just nine months after their disastrous wedding.
Reflecting on the wedding years later, Simon calls himself a “turnip”.
He and best man Anthony left Kayleigh in tears at the time as they blew their wedding budgets partying and gambling in Sin City.
The happy Homebird Kayleigh didn’t know Simon was living in the US, spending too much cash meant their guest list had to be reduced to six people and key family members weren’t invited.
Stressed Simon was trying to find the perfect wedding dress. He said shopping for Kayleigh’s fancy dresses was the worst part of the whole planning experience.
Initially, he chose the perfect one, but he ended up exchanging it for an ivory princess style dress.
The boys then booked a place for the chapel inside the Venetian hotel, with Simon reflecting: “I just wanted the best of both worlds, the country wedding she wanted but in Vegas. “
The first time when Kayleigh’s dress was worn in her hometown, she ripped during the fitting and not in a good way.
She said: “What the hell is he thinking? It was just a joke.”
Kayleigh’s mother then had to sponsor a surrogate to keep her daughter happy, unaware that skint Simon had lost £500 in gambling the night before.
More tears were shed when Kayleigh was told to go to the airport to pick up her Vegas ticket
Shell shocked that her whole family wouldn’t go, she sobbed: “Why would the man I love do this?”
She accused Simon of tearing her family apart and breaking her heart during a tense phone call.
But she ended up flying out, much to Simon’s surprise. However, she refused to give him a kiss or a hug and they shared an awkward car ride to the hotel.
Simon said at the time he hated himself when he realized he had lost the respect of Kayleigh’s family.
But after a good night’s sleep, Kayleigh had a change of heart and decided to make the wedding.
However, their smiles were short-lived, because shortly after returning home, Simon got a job abroad.
Kayleigh’s desire to stay in the UK led him to end their marriage after just nine months and their divorce was finalized in 2020.
