Donald Trump’s recent NPR interview has Twitter showing red

In January 2022, Donald Trump sat down with NPR’s Steve Inskeep for a six-year interview. During their conversation, Trump was asked several questions about the baseless claims he has made – and continues to make – that Joe Biden did not win the presidential election fairly, and things spiraled from there (through Everyone).

The conversation was relatively civil until Inskeep started questioning the election. He asked, “Is it a disadvantage for the Republican Party to keep talking about the 2020 election in 2022?” Trump, of course, replied, “No, I think that’s an advantage because if not, they’ll do it again in 22 and 24.”

As Inskeep repeatedly questioned the election, Trump became more and more agitated (via Guardians). “People don’t know how big this problem is, and they don’t want it to happen again,” Trump said. In the end, he hung up Inskeep before the NPR reporter could finish the interview. Inskeep said, “Woah, woah, woah, I have one more question,” trying to keep Trump going. “I want to ask about a trial yesterday on January 6th… He’s gone. All right.”

Twitter has had the return of Inskeep. One user Written, “I admire your professionalism and your ability to keep your voice steady during what must have been an unpleasant interview. Another reminder of why I’m so happy and proud to be here. become a supporter of NPR. Thank you and your team.” Is different called Trump’s behavior “disappointing,” while another Twitter user shared, “The only thing I care about hearing from him is accountability and apology. I guess he is too. Thanks but no thanks.”
