Dominic Fike has opened up about his disastrous first audition for the debut season of euphoria.
The actor joined the hit teen drama in its second season as Elliot, who becomes friends with Jules (Hunter Schafer) and Rue (Zendaya).
In a recent interview with GQFike explained that he was invited to audition for the first season and after enduring several rounds of callbacks, he was given the opportunity for one last chemistry read with series regular Barbie Ferreira.
However, in an attempt at extreme method acting, he took magic mushrooms to get into the role. This turned out to be a mistake.
“I started to climax when me and Barbie were reading,” Fike said.
His state of mind at the time led him to believe that series creator Sam Levinson was wearing a dress.
“I looked at him and I was like, ‘Are you wearing a dress right now?’ it was crazy I started making fun of everyone in the room,” he recalls, laughing.
He later said his agents called him and said, “What the heck.” Fike didn’t get the part.
Elsewhere in the interview, Fike revealed that he was “heavily addicted to so many drugs” at the time.
He added, “Trying to make a friggin’ album in the midst of so much pressure, the drugs, my crazy family and I, was impossible.”
