At 12:38 pm Thursday, the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call to the Neighbors Emergency Center on Block 11000 of Broadway Street in Pearland about a stabbing.
The 20-year-old man was taken to the emergency room by Jessenia Rubio, who was later identified as a suspect, MPs said.
Authorities learned the stabbing resulted from an argument between Rubio and the victim at the 5500 block of Imperial Drive in Rosharon, Texas.
The victim was transported from the Pearland location to the Houston Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Rubio was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, with bail set at $250,000, lawmakers said.
“There is a common misconception that victims of domestic violence are only women. These crimes can happen to men, too,” said Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan. “If you are a victim of domestic violence, please notify your local law enforcement agency. And remember, if you see something, say something.”
