Dismantling of a major NYC gang includes bust of man who shot dead 3-year-old: police sources

Authorities have hunted down two rival Brooklyn gangs responsible for a series of murders and shootings – including one in which a 3-year-old girl was injured, police sources said on Tuesday, noting that the Brooklyn District Attorney and NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell would announce the news at a press conference later this afternoon.

Police officers arrested more than two dozen people in the operation, including the person allegedly responsible for shooting the tot with a stray bullet after he opened fire near the child’s Brownsville daycare in March, sources said of law enforcement agencies.

Aside from the kid who was shot, the gangs — known as Woo, a combination of Bloods and Crips, and Choo, a Folk Nation gang — are also responsible for shooting dead a cab driver for playing music by a rival gang has, the sources said.
Prosecutors Eric Gonzalez and Sewell are expected to announce the arrests and further details of the investigation at 12:30 p.m
