The 2023 Grammys finally took place on February 5th, but did BTS win any awards at the show?
The band is currently on hiatus as all members focus on their individual projects. In the midst of this, people were ecstatic when they were nominated for the 2023 Grammys.
Some had even hoped that members would show up at the event.
Has BTS won Grammys?
BTS didn’t win any Grammys at the 2023 event. The band was nominated in three categories – Best Music Video, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Album of the Year.
They received a Best Music Video nomination for their song “Yet to Come.” They also received a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration with Coldplay.
The third nomination, Best Album, also comes for their song “My Universe” with Coldplay.
The band did not attend the event
A few days before the scheduled event, there were rumors that RM and Jungkook could be present at the awards ceremony.
This speculation stemmed from the fact that the official Instagram account of the awards show had started following the two singers.
In reality, however, none of the band members were present. When the group announced their hiatus, it was confirmed that they would not be performing as a band at an awards show until their hiatus was over.
What we know about her break
In 2022, the band confirmed they would be taking a hiatus to do their military service while concentrating on their solo projects. In 2025 they will return together.
This was also confirmed by a representative of BigHit Entertainment in a opinion: “Group member Jin will start the process once his schedule is finalized for his late October solo release. He will then go through the Korean government’s recruitment process. Other members of the group plan to do their military service based on their own individual plans. Both the company and the members of BTS look forward to reuniting as a group following their service engagement around 2025.”
