Dickinson Area Community Foundation hosts opening of new location in downtown Iron Mountain | WJMN

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WJMN) – Dickinson Area Community Foundation (DACF) is hosting an open house on Tuesday, November 30 to highlight its new office space. The Open House will be open from 12pm – 6pm central time at the organization’s new address located at 220A East Hughitt Street in Iron Mountain. In conjunction with Tuesday’s Exchange, attendees can donate $20 to participate in drawings for tickets to the December 25 game between the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns, as well as tickets to the organization’s fund Event ‘Christmas in the Wizarding World’ on January 28.

“Our open house is essentially to highlight our new space,” said Tamara Juul, CEO of DACF. “It’s professional, it’s street frontage, we have nice windows. We’ve all been getting ready for Christmas in the hope that everyone will drop by and see our new space. It’s very professional and a big upgrade for our small staff and small office, but we’re really excited.”

Founded in 1995, the fund manages more than 120 funds backed by a multi-million dollar wealth fund to contribute to the well-being of the community.

“The mission of the community platform is to improve the quality of life here,” says Juul. “And the way we do that is we give out scholarships and grants, and so we have various funds set up to help people achieve their goal of making life better here in Dickinson County. and surrounding communities.”

DACF encourages the public to stop by during its opening hours to learn about its various foundations and how contributing to a local nonprofit can leave a positive impact in the community for generations. For those unable to attend tomorrow’s opening, donations can be made on DACF’s website.
