Devils vs Avalanche odds, predictions: Three pro underdog bets

Thursday’s NHL table features a STACKED 12-game roster, but three sizeable underdogs capture significant bettor action.

The Action Network PRO Report identifies five factors – hot money, big money, PRO systems, model advantages, and expert tips – to help distinguish certain plays from others available.

Pick #1 – Ottawa Senators Moneyline (+230) vs. Boston Bruins

We’ve noticed some reverse line movement with the Senators opening as +235 underdogs to the Bruins. However, we’ve also seen sharp action from the Senators, who have lost all three of their games against the Bruins this season.

Big money bets have also shown up for the Sens. As of this writing, visitors have only received 16 percent of all moneyline bets, but 49 percent of the total. That’s the second-biggest discrepancy among teams receiving less than 30 percent of all bets.

Finally, Action Network’s model projections suggest the senators are too big an underdog on Thursday. According to our NHL power ratings, the Senators should be just a +175 underdog to the Bruins, who have lost three of their last four.

Pick #2 – Anaheim Ducks Moneyline (+280) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Ducks opened as +330 underdogs on their visit to the Sunshine State, but we’ve seen sharp action by the Ducks that dropped them to +300.

Additionally, this site single-handedly achieved the largest betting-to-money percentage discrepancy on Thursday. As of this writing, the Ducks have only received nine percent of all money line bets. However, his cash share is currently 89 percent.

Finally, like the Senators, our model predictions suggest that the Ducks may be somewhat undervalued in Tampa Bay. According to our NHL power ratings, the Ducks should be just a +173 underdog against the Lightning, who lost 5-1 in their first meeting of the season in Anaheim.

Pick #3 – New Jersey Devils Moneyline (+230) vs. Colorado Avalanche

The Devils, who have won two straight games, opened as +295 underdogs against the Avalanche, who have won six straight games.

However, sharp bettors are leaning towards the Devils, who won the first meeting between these teams in March 5-3. In addition, big money bets are also showing in favor of the Devils. As of this writing, visitors have only received 31 percent of the bets, but 99 percent of the money, a number that represents the largest percentage of money today.
