Deshaun Watson: 23. Civil suit alleging sexual assault filed against former Houston Texans quarterback

A new lawsuit has been filed against former Texas quarterback Deshaun Watson alleging sexual assault by the woman.

The woman in the latest lawsuit said she wanted to file the lawsuit in 2021 but was invited to dinner by one of Watson’s lawyers and was persuaded not to.

According to the lawsuit, the woman changed her mind after seeing HBO’s Real Sports segment about Watson. After seeing this, the woman was “overwhelmed by the courage of the victims who were willing to come forward and speak up, and was extremely dissatisfied with (Deshaun) Watson and the mistreatment and re-victimization of the (victims) by (Deshaun) Watson.” ‘ the lawsuit says.

The lawsuit, which is the 23rd civil lawsuit against the football star, alleges the woman had three encounters with Watson. The first meeting took place on June 7, 2020. The second took place on August 24, 2020. The last meeting took place in late August or early September 2020, the lawsuit states. She added that Watson’s demeanor increased with each massage.

ABC13 reached out to Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, who responded with the following statement:

“Deshaun Watson has vehemently denied the allegations, just as he has vehemently denied them since they first discussed them with members of our firm in March last year. She repeated the allegations on social media in August and he denied them at the time. The only new thing about their claims is the embellishment, making them more extreme than previous versions. Deshaun’s denial remains the same.

Our firm’s two highly respected attorneys, Letitia Quinones and Rachel Lewis, also vehemently deny that there was any coercion or intimidation involved in the very cordial meeting at Vic and Anthony’s (Mr. Buzbee and the plaintiff are not even correct as to where the meeting took place , let alone what was said). They met with her to see if she was one of Mr. Buzbee’s then-anonymous complainants. At the time, Mr. Buzbee refused to identify his clients. The suggestion that either of those two savvy lawyers would have said, “we black women need to stick together” is absurd. The interview was so personable that she met the lawyers for dinner afterwards.

We are aware that she had other attorneys represent her more than a year ago and that they eventually terminated the representation. This plaintiff has long had a vendetta against Deshaun since she jealously and furiously posted Deshaun’s personal information on social media in November 2020. When she filed her lawsuit, she obviously wasn’t influenced by the latest developments. We’re not surprised that Mr. Buzbee was willing to say just about anything to get more publicity. He knows the NFL continues to investigate these cases, and this is a transparent attempt to further punish the man he sees as a potential payday.”
