Deadly shooting outside shopping mall
One person has died after a shooting outside a shopping mall on Monday, authorities said.
Shortly after 2:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2500 block of Delta Fairgrounds just south of San Jose Drive, not far from the Deltafair shopping center.
The Contra Costa County Fire Department also had a truck and ambulance responding to the area. Police said one person died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
As of 3:30 p.m., investigators were working at what was described as an active crime scene, but police have not shared any preliminary information about the suspect or vehicle description.
