David Harbor was shocked that Madonna called him sexy ahead of the ‘creepy’ audition

Seems like Madonna is crazy about David Harbour.

The Queen of Pop, 64, was reportedly so smitten with the Stranger Things star, 47, that she invited him to a secret audition for her 2011 film WE.

“It was a crazy thing. It was a real night-and-fog experience,” Harbor recalled on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The “Material Girl” singer helmed the historical drama, which follows two women – Edward VIII’s wife, Wallis Simpson, and now-New Yorker Wally Winthrop, who is obsessed with the couple’s relationship.

“WE” starred Abbie Cornish, James D’Arcy, Andrea Riseborough, Oscar Isaac and Richard Coyle. Harbor played Ernest Simpson, who was married to Wallis when she became involved with royalty.

“I got a call from a casting director I knew very well saying they were putting together a top secret screening of the film, but all you have to do is show up at the St. Regis and enter this room and all will be revealed,” Hafen said. “And I was like, ‘This is really weird and creepy.'”

He said he was told the director – whose name was not released at the time – saw him in 2008’s Revolutionary Road.

“You had a sex scene in it and ‘they’ thought you were sexy,” Harbor claimed the casting director told him.

“So I was literally thinking about Ridley Scott and Martin Scorsese all weekend,” he quipped.

“I show up at the St. Regis and walk into the room and there’s a bunch of other New York actors and Madonna, who’s directing this movie, walking around. The first thing that flooded me was, ‘Wow, Madonna thinks I’m sexy.'”

The Post reached out to reps for Madonna, who directed, co-wrote and produced “WE.”

Harbor said it was a “really harrowing, exhilarating experience” because he has a lifelong crush on the music icon.

He said he first saw her in her 1986 music video “Open Your Heart.” “I was 11 years old when I saw this video, and so here I am, in this boardroom at the St. Regis, and everything is flooding back,” he said. “And I’m there with a bowler hat, just like, ‘I’m going to run into the distance with you.'”

Unfortunately, “WE” only grossed $2 million at the box office. Harbour’s new film Violent Night is expected to do better.

He admitted that while Madonna “is a genius in many areas,” the project “wasn’t a great movie.”

“But there were moments!” said the Pan Am star. “There were, of course, dance sequences in the film that were done by her choreographer. But I remember she came in before we started filming and said, ‘No. This is terrible.’ And she would repeat the whole thing, and she was like magic when she got into her dance world and stuff. She was incredible. I mean, she’s a genius.”
