Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Dan Whiston, the show’s associate creative director, said: “He’s going to launch Indiana Jones for us. We’ve put this amazing creation together and he’s absolutely absolutely stunning. living his dream, he was like ‘Dan, this is my dream. I’ve always wanted to be Indiana Jones’. Keep your eyes peeled for anything really possible.

This will be a triumphant ice comeback for the maraca-shaking Mancunian, after a bout of coronavirus disrupted his training last week.

But Dan says if there’s an ideal time during the competition to take a break from illness, it’s probably just after the performance.

Despite shivering on the ice and having to wear a helmet for his own safety, Bez survived his first deportation when rugby player Ben Foden was sent home last weekend.

While Ben’s wife Jackie Belanoff-Smith was furious Dan believes the voting system is one of the show’s strengths.

Reflecting on Sunday’s results, he said: “It always surprises me and I don’t think it helps to have such a high standard, but unfortunately what the heck is the nature of the beast. That has to go.Unfortunately it’s Ben, and we really miss him.

“The beauty of our show is that it’s public programming. They have a chance to have their say, and that’s the point of voting. Who they want to keep on the show is up to them to decide, and I do. think that’s the beauty of Dancing On Ice.

“Personality influences that a lot, as does the standard of the show. People will support the person they want to come back to for their own personal reasons.

“Who knows, Bez will have a huge following and I think people really admire and appreciate what Bez will bring to the show, and maybe some people with higher standards can leave the show, they may not, it’s in the hands of the community.”

There will be a performance for the first time on Sunday for Rachel Stevens after she was sidelined last week with a wrist injury.

She’s spent most of the past few months training on dry ground while her broken wrist heals and she’s finally ready to move onto the ice.

Dan said: “Rachel is back on the ice and doing really well. It’s kind of overwhelming because she’s seen people skating, but she looks great.

“We have a great medical team and they’ve given her the sign so she’s there for now, we’re avoiding some lifts and some positions that might be uncomfortable for her, but she gives it all she has and she wants to enter this competition.”
