Crooks rob $72,000 worth of jewelry in New York’s Diamond District

Two crooks stole about $72,000 worth of jewelry and watches from three people at gunpoint as they exited a store in the Diamond District on Monday night, police officers said.
The victims were leaving the store at 71 W. 47th St. near Fifth Avenue around 7:50 p.m. when two male suspects approached them, displaying guns and demanding their belongings, authorities said.
The couple left with the expensive supply and fled in a car, police said.

No arrests were made.
It was initially unclear whether the victims were employees or customers of the jewelry store.
They left the business together, but it’s unclear if they know each other.
The woman is from New Jersey and the two men are from Queens, police said.
It wasn’t immediately clear which store the victims came from, as the commercial building houses several jewelry stores.
