MANCHESTER UNITED star Cristiano Ronaldo has been slammed for his “stubborn” behavior at Goodison Park.

Ronaldo made headlines the Saturday after United’s 1-0 defeat at Everton when he allegedly slapped a cell phone out of the hand of a teenage Toffees supporter while limping down the tunnel.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan criticized this Attitude of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and insisted he should buy 14-year-old Jake Harding a new phone.

However, Jordan believes the Portugal captain should not face police action after the incident.

Jordan tells talkSPORT: “I think we have to be careful when we use the word attack. What you’ve seen is that one player is acting edgy… we have to be careful how we categorize things.

“It was inappropriate from Ronaldo, no matter what form or level he is in, whatever he’s not used to. He’s not used to playing in teams that lose this way Manchester United do, he hasn’t played his career in teams that lose like this, but he has time to get used to it.

“You never get used to being a loser when you’ve been the winner all your life, right? Therefore his behavior is unacceptable. He should definitely apologize. He should buy the kid a new phone. These are things that you should do because ultimately you misbehaved for a moment.

“But making it an attack and getting it going and giving it an idea that football players bring the game into disrepute, I think it stretches it a bit.

“This is a player who reacted badly, who probably wasn’t even concentrating on what he was doing, probably just pushed away, and ultimately a child’s phone was knocked on the floor.

“There’s no excuse for someone being so iconic in people’s minds [should do something like this]. This is someone so used to it that he should be able to rise above it.

“What was that really? It was a stupid and stubborn act, did he want to do what he was doing, was it a brawl without really thinking? Did he know it was a child?

“He slapped the phone out of a child’s hand, that’s unacceptable behavior and he should take action, be reprimanded, I think he should apologize to the child and replace his property. But when we start to rise to attack… I think that diminishes what attack actually is.”

Ronaldo has publicly apologized via social media and invited Harding to a game at Old Trafford.

But his mother Sarah Kelly insists on having her autistic son does not want to meet the 37-year-old after the incident and slammed United for the “terrible” handling of the situation.
