Cristiano Ronaldo “exactly what Arsenal needs,” says Ian Wright as goal drought dashed the Gunners’ four best hopes

CRISTIANO RONALDO is ‘exactly what Arsenal needs’ according to Ian Wright.
That gunners are slowly watching their Champions League dream fade amid a horror run of form.
Mikel Arteta had led his side from their worst start to a season JE to pole position for the last place in the top four.
But a worrying form has seen them slide below rivals Tottenham and back Manchester United and could drop out of European competition altogether.
And Gunners legend Ian Wright is counting on it ronaldo is the kind of player his old team desperately needs.
Wright told Premier League Productions: “He has 13 points just from goals won that he’s scored for them.

“You get that at Man Utd.
“That’s exactly what Arsenal need because if he wasn’t playing for United they wouldn’t be anywhere near where they are.
“That’s what you pay for and that’s what he delivered, he’s amazing.”
Ronaldo has scored 15 goals in the Premier League this season – including a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Norwich on Saturday.

No Arsenal player has yet scored double figures in the league this season as the goal drought severely hampered their aspirations to finish in the top four.
Arteta opted to ax Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January without fielding a replacement.
Aubameyang has scored goals for fun at Barcelona when Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah – both expected to leave the club in the summer – struggle.
Arsenal have scored just two goals and conceded eight in their last five games.

Should the Gunners win their game in hand, they will sit level on points with fourth-placed Spurs, behind their north London rivals only on goal difference.
But with the ball at the back of the net becoming a problem at the wrong time, Arsenal’s January transfer game appears to have backfired.
