HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A 9-year-old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a stray bullet while holding a nearby ATM in southeast Houston, police said.

It happened at the Chase bank on the 2900 block of Woodridge Drive and Village Way around 9:43 p.m

According to authorities, a man was driving past an ATM when another man approached and shot him with a gun.

At about the same time as the shooting, a pickup truck not involved in the robbery was traveling east on Winkler toward Woodridge when one of the bullets hit the rear window.

Officials say a family of four – a mother, father and two children in the back, including a 9-year-old boy – were in the truck.
