NEW ORLEANS, La. (KXAN) – The Cowboys are back on track with a 27-17 win over the Saints.
Defensively leading for Dallas, intercepting Taysom Hill four times, including on New Orleans’ on three possessions late in the game. Trevon Diggs has the game’s third pick, giving him the league top nine interceptions this season.
Carlos Watkins finished the match with a 6th pick at 29 yards with less than three minutes to play.
The win fixed a two-game losing streak for the Cowboys, who have also lost three of their past four games. And they did it without head coach Mike McCarthy, who was disqualified due to COVID protocol. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn served as interim head coach, and he dominated the game.
Dak Prescott threw 238 yards with one touch and one interception. His only touchdown was the first score of the game, a one-meter throw for Michael Gallup.
The saints responded with a 24-foot catch from former Longhorn player Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Dallas entered the first half 13-7 thanks to a goal from Greg Zuerlein.
Tony Pollard added another touchdown at 58 yards with less than four minutes to play in the third half before the defense took over.
The Cowboys return to action next Sunday when they head to DC to take on Washington.
