Covid: Police ‘review’ No 10 Christmas party rule violation complaints

NS city police has confirmed that they are reviewing complaints from Labor that Boris Johnson and his number 10 employee held a Christmas party in violation of Covid regulations last year.

Labor advocates Neil Coyle and Barry Gardiner wrote to Scotland Yard asked investigating officers to report that two parties were held at a time when gatherings were prohibited.

Mr Johnson did not deny the events took place but said no rules had been broken – although he has repeatedly refused to elaborate on how that might be the case.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said that while they do not routinely investigate ‘retrospective’ violations of Covid regulations, they are reviewing correspondence they have received.
