Rio Ferdinand has said Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison will be disappointed that Harry Kane left Spurs in the summer transfer window.

That’s what the former Manchester United defender said on his Youtube channel that James Maddison would have been looking forward to playing with Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur and improving his assist record.

The England international’s attacking midfielder, 26, joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Kane is one of the best forwards in the world and world class.

The England international recently switched from Spurs to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

And Ferdinand thinks Maddison would be disappointed if Kane left.

Ferdinand said: “I would be completely disappointed if I were him, if I were James Maddison.

“I’ll be top of the assists table, I’ll play alongside the England captain and Spurs and now Harry Kane is on the rise.

“Probably on the way there he was promised that one of his questions was, ‘Are we going to keep this squad together?’ Do we keep Kane, son etc? And they would have said: ‘Yes, yes, yes’.”
