COLORADO JOURNEY DEATH: Former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs dies at 76

DENVER (KDVR) – Former Colorado Supreme Court Justice, Gregory Hobbs Jr, died Monday of a pulmonary embolism.

Justice Hobbs became an attorney in Denver in 1973 for the US Environmental Protection Agency. He then served on the Supreme Court of Colorado from 1996 to 2015, when he retired.

Justice Hobbs is known for his expertise in water law.

“Justice Hobbs is a master of water law, a mentor to many Coloradoans in the water community, who draw on his expertise and the impact of his work will continue to be felt throughout the state. our state for many years to come. I send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Justice Hobbs is survived by his wife, Bobby, and his two children, Emily and Dan. The family asked that instead of sending flowers, those in mourning should donate to Education in Colorado.
