Wayne Rooney tries to hold back tears as he reveals his struggle with alcohol
WAYNE Rooney opened up about his marital regrets and drinking on Good Morning Britain.
Wayne spoke to GMB host Ben Shephard today in a rare TV interview ahead of the release of a new Amazon documentary about his private life.
The Manchester United and England legend has covered up his mistakes and confessed to going out drinking for two days to cope with the pressures of his footballing career.
He said today: “I’m going home and drinking for two days straight. I wake up rough, eye drops, chewing gum, gargling, trying to dust off.”
The 36-year-old also took a fresh look at his 13-year marriage, giving Coleen, telling Ben: “I love to write poetry and when we go to bed I’ll leave one on the breakfast table when she wakes up. up.”
He also explained the support Coleen has given him over the years, saying: “The difficult thing is that people have judged Coleen and her decisions.
“Does she stay with me she left me and I know it was hard for her,” he added.
“But like I said before I make mistakes and a lot of people make mistakes and it’s recovering from those things, that’s what shapes you into a better person.”
