Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe has messaged Nuno Tavares on Instagram after the full-back joined Nottingham Forest on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest have signed Nuno Tavares on loan from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

And Nicolas Pepe seems delighted to see Tavares join Forest.

It made sense for Nuno Tavares to leave Arsenal.

The 23-year-old full-back has failed to make a big impression with the Gunners.

The Portuguese youngster was on loan from Arsenal at Marseille last season.

Tavares is a good player but he’s very young and not very consistent.

It was always hard for the £8million (BBC Sports) player will be a success at Arsenal, especially given the players coach Mikel Arteta has available at full-back.

Tavares has made 28 appearances for Arsenal since joining in 2021.

Nottingham Forest is a large club and plays in the Premier League.

Tavares could be a success at City Ground.

It will be interesting to see if the 23-year-old manages to become a regular in Steve Cooper’s team in the coming weeks and months.
