Cleveland High School on Lockdown After ‘Looking Like’ Weapon Found, Student Arrested

According to Cleveland ISD, the student was arrested and expelled from class after district officials received an anonymous tip indicating that the student had brought a weapon to school.
The campus was immediately put on lockdown.
The school district said a non-working “lookalike” weapon was found and confiscated within 20 minutes of receipt of the tip.

Student arrested.
“Cleveland ISD takes all threats seriously. Cleveland ISD welcomes students who alerted staff to someone potentially bringing a weapon to campus and school administrators for their swift actions.” Although the confiscated weapons are “the same”, the district is treating the situation with the same seriousness as if it were real,” a statement read.
The school remains on lockdown as this is an active investigation.
The district said any student found to be involved in the incident will face disciplinary action.
