Clayton Echard Begins His Search for Love on ‘The Bachelor’

Views was introduced to Clayton Echard on “The Bachelorette,” and he was clearly attracted to Michelle Young – but she took him home before meeting his family and saying, “I’m missing something.”

That turned out not to be an end for Clayton, but a beginning.

“Even though I was heartbroken, when I left there, I realized, ‘Well, you’ve developed these genuine emotions, so you can find love,'” he said. “That is possible.”

And that’s why he’s willing to try and find love on TV again.

The pitches for the new season make it clear that he has found love not once, not twice but three times. So he thinks it’s possible to love three women at the same time?

“Oh my, no,” he said. “No, not at all. In fact, I think I fooled myself. I made an absolute. I said I would never love many women.”

Those are supposed to be the famous last words, but does it make the show more vibrant? Or more challenging?

“Both,” he said. “I’m mentally all over the place, just trying to grasp what it looks like, and it’s been a challenge.”

In the ABC commercial, Clayton confesses that he’s been “intimidating” with the two women standing side by side, and it’s no surprise that the teams and drama ensued.

“I realized I had to go with my emotions when it came to the end,” he said. “I can’t try to keep rationalizing what’s happening.”

Despite the movie, the former college football player told me there were no regrets.

“You look at things as they replay and you wish they had been made differently,” he said. “But I did everything that I thought was best at the time.”

Where does it all lead? The fact that he found love, Clayton said. But it comes with a confusing mindset.

“You’ll just have to tune in to figure out what it looks like,” he says.
