Citigroup workers not vaccinated by January 14 will be fired

(Hill) – Employees of Citigroup Inc. who refuses to comply with the company’s vaccine regulations by January 14 will result in dismissal, Bloomberg’s report.

They will be placed on unpaid leave and laid off at the end of January.

Employees will have to sign an agreement stating that they will not sue Citigroup for year-end bonuses. Some workers will still receive certain payments.

“You may apply for other roles at Citi in the future as long as you adhere to Citi’s immunization policy,” the message to employees read.

According to a company spokesman, more than 90% of Citigroup employees have complied with the vaccine regulation to date. She confirmed that the body is increasing rapidly.

The mandate allows employees to apply for religious or medical exemptions.

Citigroup has faced public backlash from some staff due to its vaccination duties.

The company first announced its mandate to vaccinate all employees at the end of October.

Former company give a bonus of 200 dollars for employees who submit proof of vaccination by December. Citigroup has also held meetings with doctors and other experts to ease concerns about vaccines.

Citigroup is headquartered in New York but employs workers around the country.
