Chuck Schumer’s response to New York’s migrant nightmare is lame

Sen. Chuck Schumer denies he is an intelligence official over the border crisis that, as Mayor Eric Adams puts it, threatens to “destroy” Gotham.
But the “solutions” Chuck says he’s pushing for ignore the main problem — President Joe Biden’s open borders policy — and actually would worsen the nightmare.
“I have worked at the highest levels and committed funds to New York,” the Senate majority leader told The Post on Sunday.
“I have publicly urged the administration to expedite and expand work permits.”
Sorry, Chuck. There is a lack of cash or work permits for migrants not What is causing a flood of migrants to flood New York (and elsewhere)?
Rather, it is Biden’s “Invitation” for all comers to the race.
And Democrats’ pointless calls to generously accommodate them at the expense of U.S. citizens only make Biden’s offer even more attractive.
Schumer’s “corrections” fuel this dynamic.

In fact, no pole should even do that Notice faster work permits – or more help – before the border is sealed tight.
Biden opened the gates; he can close it if he really wants to.
Remember, when Donald Trump was president and kept the border closed, no one warned that the city would be “destroyed” without more help.
This is also why the radical left Democrats and their media puppets cannot blame the crisis on the GOPers’ refusal to budge on “comprehensive immigration reform” – by which they mean, essentially legalizing everyone who wants to come here.
(The United Nations says nearly 4 billion people live in poverty worldwide; should Americans let that happen?) all in – and support them?)
Not that the left isn’t trying: “The GOP gets the Democratic border crisis it wanted.” mocked a New York Times headline On Saturday, he claimed that the right actually “want” the border opened so they can attack Democrats.
Bull.
This is a mess of the Democrats’ own making; They just can’t say no to their “let them all in” wing.
Hell, the Democrats could free the Republicans from the issue entirely if they wanted to – simply by securing the border.
When Chuck talks about working at the “highest level” and focuses on the red herring of work permits, what he really means is that he is afraid to tell the public the truth, that Biden is creating this mess for fear of criticism of his own party has caused.
Meanwhile, condescending talk of deals being negotiated behind the scenes in backrooms is no substitute for transparent leadership. It’s a trite act that will no longer fool voters and will only fuel suspicion that the elites are doing secret business (or doing nothing at all).
Say what you think publicly. This is why you were chosen to represent the public.
Adams, meanwhile, is right that the city is in trouble.
He has ordered another round of budget cuts: 5% at each agency through November and even 10% more At the beginning of next year without a government rescue package.
Here, too, even Uncle Sam doesn’t have enough money to house the world’s poor.
The only option is to restore order at the border real Solution.
