Chris Lane tests positive for Omicron COVID-19 variant

Chris Lane is the latest country star to reveal a COVID-19 diagnosis. The “Fill Them Boots” singer shared the news on Instagram on Friday (December 17), explaining that he’s “praying the rest of the family doesn’t get it” (quoted via Everyone.)

Lane’s family includes his wife, Lauren Bushnell, and six month old son, Dutton. The couple are especially wary of their young son because they know firsthand how terrifying it is to let a newborn baby go through a health crisis. When it was only a few weeks old, a virus sent Dutton to the hospital for full work and spinal exercise. Thankfully, it was just a cold, and he made a quick recovery.

While Lane must be isolated from her young son until he is no longer contagious, it seems that so far Dutton is happy and healthy: Bushnell’s Instagram Stories just let him hang out on the couch, babbling and cooing with the decorated Christmas tree in the back.

Lane also shared with fans that his duel with COVID-19 was thanks to the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus. It’s also a groundbreaking case, and earlier this year, the singer’s wife said both she and her husband had been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Each Everyone, Moderna and Pfizer’s two-dose vaccines appear to be less effective against the Omicron variant of COVID-19, although the booster shot will help prevent infection.

Lane is one of the country stars battling the COVID-19 coronavirus; most recent, Brett Eldredge pushed his upper two stops Light Direct visit after signing a breakout case. Dan + Shay also dropped some shows this fall after experiencing several positive cases of COVID-19 in their camp; Zac Brown Band, Mark Chestnutt and David Allan Coe have all been affected by the virus in recent months.

However, for now, Lane’s COVID-19 diagnosis does not affect Fill out Them Boots Tour. The run was broken for the holiday season after a show in Austin, Texas, on November 21, and it will resume January 13 in Boston, Mass.
