Chris Cuomo didn’t mention his brother’s reported involvement on the show

Things have been a bit awkward for Chris Cuomo for a while. On the one hand, he has a weeknight CNN show. On the other hand, his brother is Andrew Cuomo, who in August resignation was governor of New York after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct. A new report released on Monday claims that Chris has participate more in his brother’s protection than he declared. But you wouldn’t know any of this happened if you watched that night’s episode of Cuomo main time.

The CNN host dedicated the opening of the night’s show to Omicron, the new strain of COVID that went public the day after Thanksgiving and is still very little known about. Hours of operation are as usual, meaning Cuomo never mentioned the hot water he is currently in. The closest thing to admission was when he handed the baton to his colleague Don Lemon, who gave him a suspiciously warmer-than-usual greeting.

“I am grateful for your friendship and love,” Lemon told Cuomo. “I think you are amazing. One of the kindest people I know on this planet.”

Records show that Chris Cuomo was once an eager part of his brother’s defensive team. As sexual harassment allegations mount, Chris is said to be adamant that Andrew is not resigning, even willing to dig up some of his accusers. CNN announced shortly after that they would conduct a “thorough assessment” of reports. Meanwhile, their employees may simply have to pretend they’re all handsome.
