Juan Uriostigui admitted to repeatedly hitting a 5-year-old girl with a belt, his hands, his fists and a clothes hanger.
The child accused other abuses, including being forced to eat from a dog’s bowl, being forced to cover his head with his hands for long periods of time and not being allowed to eat normal food, records show.
The indictment documents also state that the child suffered bilateral subdural hematoma, hemoperitoneum, hematuria, multiple bruises and retinal hemorrhages on the left side and is now legally blind as a result of her injuries.
Records show the 28-year-old is being held on a $1 million bond.
