Chicago Bulls start 5 tough games with playoff shakes

Got an impressive win over the Charlotte Hornets, 14-8 Chicago Bulls off to a pretty rough start in their next five games, with four to come.

Thursday, it started with the Bulls going to play against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. This will be the Bulls’ third meeting with the Knicks during this youth season, with each team claiming a win so far.

The two games between Chicago and New York are decided by a total of seven points, so these teams are completely back to the thick of an old rivalry. New York put on a tough showdown with Julius Randle, but thankfully Nikola Vucevic is back to health – and excellent basketball player.

After the game against New York, the Bulls will face the Brooklyn Nets on the road. This will be a complete rematch, considering Bulls beat the Nets convincingly at the start of the season, despite 38 points from Kevin Durant. Brooklyn will no doubt seek revenge for that 23-point loss.

This stretch will tell us a lot about the current state of these Chicago Bulls.

If Chicago can split those two games or take a 2-0 lead, they’ll be in superb form going home in their only game at United Center in these five games. They will host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, which are always tough matches. Particularly between Vucevic and Jokic, this will be an interesting match.

The Bulls’ fourth game in this difficult period was en route against a sneaky Cleveland Cavaliers team, featuring former Chicago forward Lauri Markkanen. The big story in this installment will be how the Bulls play against Cleveland’s frontcourt.

Between Jarrett Allen and rookie Evan Mobley, the Cavs have one of the best frontcourts in the league. Yes some rookies plays better than Mobley, as the kid is scoring 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

Cleveland is a well-rounded club with eight players averaging double-digit goals, so the Bulls cannot take them lightly.

The Bulls finally completed this round of five games on Saturday, December 11 in a rematch against the Miami Heat, this time on the road. Bulls lost one close just a few days ago with Heat, 107-104. That loss was particularly disappointing because the Bulls somehow managed to keep the score close despite 23 spins.

Each of these five teams is currently in the playoff picture of their respective congress. So just like the Bulls faced earlier in the season with 11 of the 12 teams being playoff teams from a year ago, they will be tested.

For the Bulls to pass 3-2 or better means they are a legitimate opponent. The team is in good shape right now, with Vucevic back in the lineup, and possibly the best looking team they’ve seen all season in their most recent game against Charlotte. Let’s hope Billy Donovan and crew can move on.

We will see you on the other side.
