The police believe that former beauty queen, who lives on the ninth floor, jump to her death.

Fans rushed to pay tribute to the lawyer and Miss America 2019 winner on her social media pages.

A pain post Kryst shared in December 2019 However, fans were left stunned, with some commenting that it was an “omen”.

The photo that Kryst shared shows her lying on the ground after a workout in her hometown of North Carolina.

“How was the first training session back,” she captioned the post.

“Mom said she’s buying breakfast, swipe it up.”

Kryst tagged her mother April Simpkins, also a former pageant queen, in the Instagram post.

Simpkins spoke about his daughter’s tragic death for the first time on Tuesday in a chat with Gayle King.

The CBS host, who was friendly with Kryst, revealed the mother’s grief in an essay for Oprah Daily.

“Cheslie is not just my daughter; She’s my best friend,” said Simpson.

She has previously said that although she has six children, “Cheslie is probably the most similar to me, where I am in life.

“And we spend some time together chatting or sharing our interests, like exercising or running our 5K, which is a lot of fun,” she added.

“Months earlier, Cheslie had told me the same thing: Her mother was her best friend,” King wrote in Tuesday’s emotional piece.

“Not only was her family broken, but everyone who knew or worked with Cheslie walked around in shock,” King continued.

“How can you not explain?”

“I simply refuse to believe it. Maybe she was pushed? Maybe there is some other bad game? Now, of course, we know that’s really what happened,” she added of the young woman’s suicide.

“What was she thinking in those final moments? Did she have a plan? Did something so intense and traumatic that happened over the weekend that could have caused this?

“I care a lot about this girl – and I think I really know her, so that’s what I’m struggling with,” concluded King.

The couple met in 2019 when Kryst appeared on CBS This Morning to talk about how, for the first time in history, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss America were all black.

They remained in touch when Kryst became a reporter for ExtraTV.

King described her as “more than a pretty girl with a microphone.”

Kryst is said to have left everything to her mother in a letter before her death.

She says her mother, who was crowned Miss North Carolina in 2002, was the inspiration for her to start pageants as a teenager.

“My mom is the second black woman in North Carolina, so I knew no matter what, I was going to compete,” says Kryst.

The NYPD is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Kryst’s death.

It is believed that she was alone when she jumped from the rooftop on the 29th floor of the building.

Kryst is said to have written that she “wants to leave everything behind” for her mother, although the letter is said to have not included a motive for her actions.

Hours after Krysta’s death, her family released a painful statement, which read: “In great devastation and grief, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie .

“Her amazing light is an inspiration to others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cares, she loves, she smiles and she shines.

“Cheslie demonstrates love and service to others, whether through her work as a social justice lawyer, as Miss USA, and as a host of EXTRA,” her family continued.

“But most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will last.”

Hours before her death, Kryst uploaded a cold post on Instagram her caption: “May this day bring you rest and serenity.”

Dozens of tributes poured in when news of her death broke.

American actress and Miss America 2015 Olivia Jordan said: “Rest in peace, sisters. The world will miss you and the light you shined bright. “
